Air Canada B747-400 Yves and Moi going to Hong Kong
Air Canada, the flagship carrier in the maple leaf country has began its service into Hong Kong using a Boeing B747-400. In order to promote such event, they have painted one of its aircraft with a special message “Yves and Moi going to Hong Kong”. Air Canada’s livery has been since changed to the “Tooth-paste white”. This 1:400 Aeroclassics model still addressed the old livery and is a soldout model.

Cathay Pacific B747-400 Asia World City
Hong Kong is the Asia World City. Cathay, the airline of Hong Kong also painted one of their B747 (“B-HOY”) into an “Asia World City” scheme. The Asia World City scheme mark a dark green color with flashing ribbon is a continuous of the former Spirit of Hong Kong scheme. The aircraft flied to different city worldwide to promote Hong Kong. It is an eye catching bird and therefore Cathay has decided to paint one of its B777-300ER into the same scheme to continue the tradition. B-HOY has since been retired and found its new life in Cathay Pacific Cargo. This Herpa 1:500 model will help us to remember its legacy and will continue to fly over in collector’s dream.

ANA YS-11
The smallest plane using by Japanese domestic route is the YS-11. With high density population in Japan, it is a pleasant surprise that the YS-11 is able to survive in such a busy aviation market. However, YS-11 can operate in short runway in which some remote Japanese airport locate. YS-11 also provided maximum flexibility by allowing increase frequency to some low demand market. It is also very fuel efficient. This 1:200 scale JC Wings model correctly replicate the shape of the model with turnable propeller fan and it is also wholly diecasted.

Antonov An-225 Mriya
When you ask an ordinary person about what’s the largest airplane in the world, 9 out of the 10 person will say, “Airbus A380”. The last one will probably say a Boeing 747. But this title belongs to the AN-225. A giant cargo operator with wing span and length over 88m respectively, which is almost 10m wider and longer than an A380. This plane equipped with SIX engines of each can produce up to 229kN thrust. That’s right, three on each wing that is two more than the A380. This gigantic bird is able to fly with 250 metric tons payload over a distance up to 4,500km without touching the ground. Originally designed as a plane to carry the Russian space shuttle, however, due to the collapse of the Soviet Union, the project has been abadom and hence this plane is being transferred to a Cargo operator. Due to the very limited choice of airline using this plane, model manufacturer is unable to produce such model and be able to generate enough profit to sustain the production. However, as enormous noise been generated from the collector society, this plane has finally been produced by Herpa in the 500 scale. It proved to be an immediate hot-seller. Therefore grab it in Aeroshop as you can as stock is almost soldout.

Air Pacific B747-400
Air Pacific, one of the less known airlines in the Asia, will begin serving the HKG-Fiji route in year 2010. The rainbow tail reflects the colorful and the relax style of this Pacific Island nation. It also added color to the all white body. Air Pacific will be using Boeing 767 to fly this route at the beginning. With more new airlines serving HKG, it definitely helped to further establish HKG's role as an aviation hub.
