Herpa 1:500 Air France Concorde

Concorde, the only super-sonic commercial airplane ever been fly on the sky for an extended period of time. The unique shape of the airplane makes it eye catching however the high fuel consumption also made it uneconomical to fly in every routes. There are total less than 20 Concorde being built. Mostly are fly by Air France and British Airways. This legend is best known for its “race to the clock”. Passenger boarding on London flying West bound to New York will arrive in local time before their boarding time. However such legend ended in a tragedy in a crash by Air France. The crash has ended the Concorde’s life; however people will always remember the memory of such great bird. The Herpa 500 scale Air France Concorde is in Herpa’s new generation mode which has a true to scale landing gear. It is a highly collectible item for all hardcore collectors.

Herpa 1:500 Korean Air Cargo B747-400F Open Nose

One of the most successful freighter in the world is the B747-400F. The most distinctive feature of this bird is the open nose. The open nose enables effective and efficient cargo loading and unloading. A full loaded B747 can unload and load the cargos within 120 minutes which present a significant advantage over other freighter in the world. Also the open nose enables super size cargo to load on the deck in one piece. Nowadays, a 747 freighter including those of the classic comprise over 50% of the world’s freighter capacity which proved its reliability and efficiency. Boeing also launched the next generation B747-8F as its next generation freighter. This 500 scale Open Nose Cargo model is a new mold developed by Herpa which shows the distinctive feature of the real plane. The most significant difference of this model as compared to other Herpa is that the plane is made by plastic which enable the nose door to open freely. Herpa 1:500 Beluga A300-600ST

When you are looking at these Beluga pairs, you immediately think of their contribution to the construction of A380 (known as “King of the Sky”). Back in the days when the Airbus starts to construct the A380, they have to think of an effective way to transport parts all over the world to their Toulouse or Hamburg Plant. Its main-deck cargo volume is greater than the C5 and the An-124 which make it an ideal carrier to carry the A380 main body. The pairs of Beluga mark the old and new dressing for this great bird and is one of the most eye-catching plane appeared in the airport.

My passion for aviation models

I collect plane models since I was a kid and now I turn my interest into my own career. Airlines flying into HKG are the models that I collected. My collection consists of mostly 1:500 scale as well as some 1:400 and 1:200.

My passion for aviation drives me to create this blog and I hope to create a platform for all plane collectors to share your passion in this lovely hobby.

My favourite airlines are: CX, ANA, KA and KE. What are yours?
