Boeing B767-400ER “Leading the Way”

Boeing 767-400ER is a unique plane. The way its unique is because is designed to suited only two airlines requested, being Delta and Continental. Boeing was requested by this two company to develop a longer version of the B767 family and yet less powerful and cheaper than a B777-200. The proto type wears this “leading the way livery” as a promotional tour around the world. However, due to the development of the more powerful B777 model, this B764ER model is not selling particularly well. However, in a model collector’s perspective, this model becomes a rare collection as not many of them are being produced. Also the unique livery breaks the normal Boeing’s house color tradition.

Antonov An-225 Mriya
When you ask an ordinary person about what’s the largest airplane in the world, 9 out of the 10 person will say, “Airbus A380”. The last one will probably say a Boeing 747. But this title belongs to the AN-225. A giant cargo operator with wing span and length over 88m respectively, which is almost 10m wider and longer than an A380. This plane equipped with SIX engines of each can produce up to 229kN thrust. That’s right, three on each wing that is two more than the A380. This gigantic bird is able to fly with 250 metric tons payload over a distance up to 4,500km without touching the ground. Originally designed as a plane to carry the Russian space shuttle, however, due to the collapse of the Soviet Union, the project has been abadom and hence this plane is being transferred to a Cargo operator. Due to the very limited choice of airline using this plane, model manufacturer is unable to produce such model and be able to generate enough profit to sustain the production. However, as enormous noise been generated from the collector society, this plane has finally been produced by Herpa in the 500 scale. It proved to be an immediate hot-seller. Therefore grab it in Aeroshop as you can as stock is almost soldout.

The longest commercial airliners in nowadays aviation world, Airbus A340-600 is built to fly longhaul with four powerful engines. However, the first version of such model has excessive weight and didn’t meet the performance expectation that airbus promised. This create massive cut in orders which force airbus to modify the spec of the planes. As a result, A340-600HGW was developed which outperform what’s originally promised by airbus. This Herpa 500 scale model has the house livery printed on the model.
