Herpa 1:500 Airbus A340-600
The longest commercial airliners in nowadays aviation world, Airbus A340-600 is built to fly longhaul with four powerful engines. However, the first version of such model has excessive weight and didn’t meet the performance expectation that airbus promised. This create massive cut in orders which force airbus to modify the spec of the planes. As a result, A340-600HGW was developed which outperform what’s originally promised by airbus. This Herpa 500 scale model has the house livery printed on the model.

【明報專訊】標榜環保的美國 波音公司新一代787型號「夢想機」（Dreamliner），預定於本港時間今晨2時首次試飛。今次試飛已推遲了兩年多，備受各界關注，若試飛成功，將標誌它成為未來航空客運主力的重要里程碑。如一切順利，波音787將會在明年付運。
夢想機上周六已通過最後的功能測試。波音表示，在周六的跑道滑行測試中，787能以最高時速240公里滑行，機頭的輪子也順利離開地面，距離實際起飛只差一步。波音副總裁兼787首席項目工程師德萊尼（Mike Delaney）說﹕「機師告訴我，客機表現非常好。我們正檢查和分析資料，以確保試飛準備就緒。」若天氣合適和能見度佳，787會從波音位於西雅圖以北的機場工廠起飛，進行約4至5小時的試飛。首航後，787還將進行為期9個月的一系列空中測試，才可付運。
環保作招徠 省油20%
本身屬中型客機的787，是波音逾10年來首次開發的機種。它以環保作招徠，機身採用革命性的較輕碳纖維合成物料製造，較同級客機省油20％。波音總裁阿爾鮑（Jim Albaugh）說﹕「這是一架非常高效能的飛機，它將改變人們的旅遊方式。787較其他飛機更環保、採用較少燃料，有助營運者節省成本，亦可讓乘客付更少錢和有更好享受。」

China airlines has been well known for its horrified safety record, this B747SP has survived in one of the most terrifying aviation incident. The aircraft was enrouted to the West Coast of USA across Pacific, as the plane approached the coastline, it runs into a significant turbulence and the plane has loss control and is about to crash, however just before it impact the ground, the pilot manage to take control of the plane and land the plane safely. The plane has been repaired and returned to service, however it became significantly fuel economical after the incident, boeing later discovered that the wings of the plane has been bended upward after the incident which improve the aero-dynamic, this accidental discovery has been used into the future development of modern aircrafts

Herpa 1:500 Air France Concorde
Concorde, the only super-sonic commercial airplane ever been fly on the sky for an extended period of time. The unique shape of the airplane makes it eye catching however the high fuel consumption also made it uneconomical to fly in every routes. There are total less than 20 Concorde being built. Mostly are fly by Air France and British Airways. This legend is best known for its “race to the clock”. Passenger boarding on London flying West bound to New York will arrive in local time before their boarding time. However such legend ended in a tragedy in a crash by Air France. The crash has ended the Concorde’s life; however people will always remember the memory of such great bird. The Herpa 500 scale Air France Concorde is in Herpa’s new generation mode which has a true to scale landing gear. It is a highly collectible item for all hardcore collectors.

In order to differentiate itself from the image of JAL, ANA invited Japanese primary school student to summit their design into promoting a new colorful scheme. This whale looking paint scheme fits the ANA’s corporate culture and helps promote the pretection of this scarce ocean creature. Ever since, ANA has been launching a series of other colorful scheme such as snoopy and the well known Pokémon. This B767 Marine Jumbo is the sister bird of the original B747 Super Marine Jumbo and is mainly serving Japanese domestic route. It is a highly collectible item with detailed paint job.
